EUROPA ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/eam-europe.be\/sites\/eam-europe.be\/files\/EAM2008-Europa_Europa.pdf\">First <span class=\"caps\">EAM<\/span> Conference 29\u201331 May 2008 \u2013 University of Ghent, Belgium<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>At the initiative of the Nordic Network of Avant-Garde Studies, the European Network for Avant-Garde and Modernism Studies (EAM) was founded and has organized its first conference entitled \u201cEuropa! Europa?\u201d in Ghent at the end of May 2008. For this purpose a call was announced for multidisciplinary panels, consisting of representatives of three different disciplines plus one moderator.<\/p>\n<p>A ViennAvant team consisting of Thomas Eder (Literature), Gabriele Jutz (Film Studies) and Bernhard Steger and Rudi Kohoutek (Architecture) submitted the project \u201cDie Verbesserung von Mitteleuropa aus dem Fundus lokaler Traditionen. Nachkriegsavantgarden in Wien 1945\u20131970\u201d [Utilizing the pool of local traditions for the rehabilitation of Central Europe. A pragmatic revaluation of the given in the works of the Wiener Gruppe.]\n\u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.viennavant.at\/staff-members\/univ-professorin-mag-dr-gabriele-jutz\/\">Gabriele Jutz<\/a> (University of Applied Arts Vienna): Die Politik des Dialekts in der \u00f6sterreichischen Filmavantgarde [The politics of dialect in Austria\u2019s film avant-garde].<br \/>\n\u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.viennavant.at\/staff-members\/rudolf-kohoutek\/\">Rudolf Kohoutek<\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/www.viennavant.at\/staff-members\/bernhard-steger\/\">Bernhard Steger<\/a> (Vienna University of Technology): Wiener Architektur 1955\u20131970: Avantgarde wider Willen, aber erst recht [Viennese Architecture 1955\u20131970.
